Euro Area Inflation Hits 3.8% Amid Energy Price Surge
The euro area annual inflation rate rose to 3.8% in September 2026, according to a flash estimate from Eurostat.
This is an increase from the previous month's rate of 3.2%, with energy prices experiencing the largest jump at 18.8% year-over-year.
The main components of euro area inflation show services at 3.2%, food, alcohol & tobacco at 1.4%, and non-energy industrial goods at 1.1%.
