Euro Drops in Value According to Moscow City Council Data
The Moscow City Council released its official exchange rates for October 5, 2026, revealing notable shifts in the value of key foreign currencies. The US dollar remained stable, with a purchase price of 87.5 soms and a sale price of 87.85 soms. However, the euro experienced a significant decline, now trading between 98 and 98.7 soms for purchase and 99 to 99.5 soms for sale.
The Russian ruble also saw adjustments, with a purchase rate of 0.99 to 1 som and a sale rate of 1.01 soms. Meanwhile, the Kazakhstani tenge remained relatively steady, with rates ranging from 0.195 to 0.199 soms for purchase and 0.201 to 0.202 soms for sale.
These fluctuations highlight the dynamic nature of currency markets, particularly the euro's recent depreciation. The stability of the dollar and tenge suggests a more consistent demand for these currencies in the current economic climate.
