Euro Edges Higher on German Economic Sentiment Boost
The euro strengthened against the British pound on Tuesday after the ZEW Institute's economic sentiment index for Germany rose to 51.6 in March, exceeding expectations of 48.0.
This improvement signals a less pessimistic outlook from financial market experts about Europe's largest economy, even as manufacturing remains weak and global trade tensions persist.
The euro responded with modest gains, pushing the EUR/GBP exchange rate to around 0.8540, up from 0.8525 in the previous session. However, the move was limited due to investors' focus on upcoming central bank meetings and broader risk sentiment.
