Euro Gains 0.3% Amid Weaker US Consumer Confidence

The Euro has experienced a significant surge against the US Dollar, rising by around 0.3% and approaching the 1.1400 mark.

This move comes as the US Dollar Index falls towards 101.30, weakening the dollar's overall value.

The improvement in the German IFO Business Climate to 86.6 is a contributing factor to this trend, driven by a sharp recovery in companies' expectations.

However, the decline in US consumer confidence, as indicated by the Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index falling to 90.8 in July from 92.2 in June, has had a limited impact on the Euro's upward momentum.

The Bundesbank noted that Germany's economy likely expanded slightly in the second quarter despite headwinds from the Middle East conflict and elevated energy prices.
