Euro Stocks Rise Ahead of US Jobs Report as Oil Prices Dip

European stock markets rose on Friday as investors awaited a key US jobs report for clues on interest rates. Oil prices dipped, and the dollar steadied amid volatile movements this week over optimism about reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

The FTSE 100, CAC 40, and DAX indices were up around midday, following a mixed session in Asia. Attention turns to Friday's release of US jobs data ahead of consumer price figures next week, which could be crucial in the Federal Reserve's decision-making on interest rates.

Kathleen Brooks, research director at XTB, said that a stronger than expected payrolls reading and elevated wage pressure 'could push up expectations for a September rate hike' and reinforce the 'higher for longer' narrative on interest rates.
