EURO STOXX 50 Rebounds on Weak US Jobs Report
The EURO STOXX 50 index rebounded on Friday, October 2nd, closing at 6,238.50 after a 1.5% slide on Thursday.
The index's gain was led by ASML, the largest constituent, which rose 3.51% as semiconductor stocks rallied globally.
A weaker-than-expected US jobs report eased fears of further Federal Reserve tightening, and Treasury and Bund yields fell.
Ronald Temple of Lazard Asset Management said the weak report likely took an October Fed rate hike off the table, supporting risk appetite across Europe.
