Euro Strength May Boost Bitcoin Without Easing Liquidity Conditions
The upcoming European Central Bank (ECB) policy decision on September 10 could have a significant impact on Bitcoin's price. A strengthening euro and a decline in the dollar index (DXY) could provide relief to Bitcoin after its recent slide below $80,000.
However, this scenario would only offer limited evidence that financing conditions for risk assets have improved. The distinction between a currency-driven drop in DXY and actual easing of liquidity conditions is crucial for Bitcoin traders.
A sustained Bitcoin recovery would carry more weight if it coincides with lower real yields, easier credit conditions, and gains in both $BTC/USD and $BTC/EUR. A falling DXY on its own could simply reflect Europe becoming relatively more attractive.
