Euro Zone Yields Ease Amid Falling Oil Prices and German Political Shocks
European government bond yields eased on Monday, marking a tactical consolidation across continental debt bourses. The downward trend was driven by falling crude oil prices and political shocks in Germany, which offset persistent rate pressures from central bank hawkishness.
The German policy-sensitive two-year Schatz yield dropped to 3.232%, reflecting a cautious holding pattern among short-end trading desks as market participants awaited public appearances by senior European Central Bank officials.
Further out the curve, benchmark yields fell to 3.479%, pulling back from multi-month high watermarks touched earlier in the month.
