European Stocks Rise on Falling Oil Prices and ECB Rate Hike Bets
European stocks have seen an increase in value as oil prices decline and investors adjust their bets on interest-rate hikes from the European Central Bank. The Stoxx Europe 600 index is currently up by 0.6% as of 12:36 p.m. in London, with chip stocks leading the advance.
ASML Holding NV has seen a rise of 3.5%, while oil and gas companies have pulled back from record highs due to Brent crude oil falling below $105 a barrel after flows resumed through a key pipeline in Saudi Arabia.
Julius Baer Group Ltd. has also seen gains, with the bank rallying after Swiss regulatory action against it ended.
