Europeans Weigh In On New Banknote Designs

The European Central Bank is seeking public feedback on ten proposed designs for new banknotes. The designs are divided into two themes: 'European places and ideas' and 'birds and rivers', with the latter representing freedom and unity.

A panel of jurors selected the proposals, which feature the same six historical figures across different layouts and compositions. These figures include Leonardo da Vinci, Ludwig van Beethoven, Marie Curie, Maria Callas, Bertha von Suttner, and Miguel de Cervantes.

Voting is open until mid-September, after which the jurors will select one design to undergo additional vetting before adoption by the European Central Bank.
