Eurozone Business Lending Growth Eases to 4.2%
Credit growth across the euro zone remains strong despite easing lending to businesses in August.
The European Central Bank reported that business lending growth cooled slightly to 4.2% from 4.4% in July, down from its mid-2023 peak.
In contrast, household borrowing continued to grow at a steady rate of 3.1%, matching the strongest pace observed since early 2023.
The euro zone's M3 money supply gauge also increased to 3.5% in August, up from 3.4% in July, as expected by economists.
