Eurozone Inflation and Fed Minutes Set Stage for Volatile Crypto Week
European crypto investors have a busy week ahead, with several key economic indicators and events that could impact markets. The eurozone's final inflation reading for July is due on Wednesday, August 19, which will be closely watched to see if it confirms the flash estimate of 2.9%.
The European Central Bank (ECB) also released its Consumer Expectations Survey on Friday, August 21, which showed a decline in median inflation expectations over the next 12 months and three-year horizon. However, the survey also revealed that consumers expect nominal income to grow only 1.1% over the following year, leaving less room for discretionary investments.
The Fed's July meeting minutes are also due on Wednesday, August 19, which could impact global risk appetite and the euro/dollar exchange rate. A hawkish reading could lift US yields and strengthen the dollar, while a softer reading could produce the reverse effect.
