Eurozone Inflation Revised Down to 3.2%
The Eurozone's inflation rate was revised down to 3.2% in August, according to recent data. This is lower than the initial estimate of 3.3%, which was published on September 1.
Inflation remained above the European Central Bank's target of 2%. The price growth for food and beverages also saw a revision downward to 1.1% in August, from 1.2% in July.
The ECB raised interest rates last week amid concerns that renewed fighting in the Middle East could fuel inflation. The central bank left open the possibility of further rate increases. In France, the EU's second-largest economy, inflation was revised to 2.6% in August, compared with the previously reported 2.7%.
