Eurozone Matches US Growth Rate Despite Energy Price Pressures
The Eurozone has matched the US in economic growth, both reaching 0.4% quarter-over-quarter (q/q) in Q2 2026.
This is a welcome surprise for Europe, as growth exceeded expectations in several countries, including Spain and Italy, despite the impact of the Middle East conflict on energy prices and inflation.
In France, growth was driven by aerospace exports, which surged 20% q/q, and capital-goods exports reached a record high due to electrification and investment in AI, defence, and electric vehicles (EVs).
