The Eurozone wage growth has slowed down to 3.1% in Q2 2026, according to recent data from Eurostat. This is a moderate slowdown compared to the previous quarter's growth rate of 3.3%. The current inflation shock remains significantly milder than the surge experienced in 2022/23.

The European Central Bank (ECB) is closely monitoring wage developments amid concerns that higher energy prices could trigger stronger pay demands and create a persistent wage-price spiral. As such, the central bank has raised interest rates twice in 2026 but indicated that only moderate policy tightening may be required.
