Fake Currency 'Rain' Brings Chaos to Mohali Traffic
A bizarre incident unfolded on Airport Road in Mohali when a group of people threw fake US dollars and euros into the air, causing chaos among commuters.
The drama began at the Sector 70-71 traffic signal, where devotees were traveling in two cars to immerse a Ganesh idol. They tossed what appeared to be foreign currency into the air, attracting the attention of passing motorists.
The sight of fluttering cash had commuters slamming their brakes and rushing out of their vehicles to grab the notes. For a few moments, the busy road resembled an impromptu treasure hunt, with drivers more interested in collecting cash than obeying traffic rules.
The scramble created a potentially hazardous situation as people ran into the carriageway through moving traffic. However, the excitement was short-lived as it was soon discovered that the notes were fake.
