Fed Decision Looms: US Interest Rates to be Announced on July 29
The US Federal Reserve will announce its latest interest rate decision on Wednesday, July 29. The move is being closely watched by investors for clues on inflation and monetary policy.
The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) began its two-day meeting on July 28 to review key economic indicators, including inflation trends, economic growth, and labor market conditions.
According to TradingView, Nachiketa Sawrikar, Fund Manager at Artha Bharat Global Multiplier Fund, expects the Federal Reserve to maintain a cautious approach as it balances supporting employment with bringing inflation closer to its 2% target.
'We expect the Federal Reserve to leave interest rates unchanged at this week's FOMC meeting while maintaining its wait-and-see approach,' Sawrikar said. He added that Fed Chair Kevin Warsh is expected to reinforce the Fed's focus on controlling inflation while stressing that future decisions will depend on incoming economic data.
Warsh is also expected to address the media after the decision in a press conference, which will begin at 12 am IST on July 30. Investors can watch the announcement and Warsh's remarks through the Federal Reserve's official website and live video channels.
