Fed Decision, Oil Prices, and Iran Tensions Set to Shake Gold Markets
Gold and silver prices are set to face significant challenges in the coming week as investors weigh the implications of the US Federal Reserve's interest rate decision, oil price fluctuations, and ongoing tensions between the US and Iran.
The Fed's policy announcement on July 29 will be a key factor in determining whether bullion extends its recovery or comes under renewed pressure. Jateen Trivedi, VP Research Analyst at LKP Securities, noted that market sentiment will continue to be driven by developments in the US-Iran geopolitical situation and crude oil prices.
Comex gold futures for August delivery advanced 1.3% to settle at $4,070.8 per ounce, while silver for the September contract rose nearly 5% to $58.90 per ounce in New York. However, analysts expect bullion to trade in a range as markets continue to monitor developments surrounding Iran.
Praveen Singh, Head of Commodities at Mirae Asset ShareKhan, stated that gold and silver are likely to trade in a range due to ongoing uncertainty. China's central bank continued to accumulate gold in May, reinforcing official-sector demand as a key pillar of support for the yellow metal.
