Fed Faces Skepticism Over Inflation Victory Claims

The Federal Reserve's efforts to combat inflation have been met with skepticism by some financial analysts. Economist Steve Moore questioned whether the Fed should declare victory on inflation, suggesting that the American public may not agree.

'They shouldn't declare victory on inflation,' Moore said. 'Just ask the American public if they think that inflation has been conquered.'

Moore stated that predicting the outcome of the Fed's interest rate hikes is challenging, and it largely depends on consumer price movements in the coming months.

'I think the best way to predict whether there will be more rate increases is to keep an eye on the oil price,' Moore said. 'And hopefully if we can get the oil price back down to below $90 a barrel they won't have to raise interest rates again.'
