The Federal Reserve decided to leave its key interest rate unchanged at around 3.6%, despite ongoing high inflation.

The decision, made after two days of deliberations, was met with dissent from three regional Fed bank presidents: Beth Hammack of the Cleveland Fed, Neel Kashkari from Minneapolis, and Lorie Logan from Dallas.

These officials had previously signaled their openness to raising rates to combat high prices.

Fed Chair Kevin Warsh emphasized the central bank's commitment to combating inflation but acknowledged that there is no 'magic wand' to instantly resolve the issue.
