Fed May Need Only One More Rate Hike This Year to Tame Inflation
New York Fed President John Williams stated that the Federal Reserve probably only needs to deliver one more rate hike this year to get inflation back on track to its 2 percent goal.
Speaking at the University at Buffalo in New York, Williams said that with the policy action taken at the September meeting, 'there is no need for urgency.'
'We must make certain that adverse inflationary disturbances do not become entrenched, and that any second-round effects on inflation remain muted,' he added.
