Fed Raises Interest Rates Amid Inflation Fears
The Federal Reserve raised interest rates for the first time since 2023 in a move that defied President Donald Trump's desire to keep rates low. The quarter-point increase was also the first rate hike with Fed Chair Kevin Warsh at the helm.
Warsh maintained his tight-lipped standard and spared very little time for questions at his post-decision press conference. He has previously stated that he's 'not a forward guidance guy,' but this move may signal what's to come for the Fed as they continue to fight inflationary pressures.
