The U.S. Federal Reserve's September policy meeting is approaching, and market expectations of a rate hike are intensifying.

Data from the August nonfarm payrolls report showed 162,000 new jobs added, far exceeding the original expectation of 56,000.

This strong jobs report reshaped market sentiment, with federal funds futures markets pricing in a 58.4% probability of a 25-basis-point rate hike at the September meeting, according to the CME FedWatch Tool.

The White House, however, is taking an opposing stance, urging the Fed not to hike rates and even suggesting cuts, with officials citing concerns about high mortgage costs and inflation.
