Federal Reserve Approves Isabella Bank’s $54.6 Million Acquisition Deal
The Federal Reserve Board has given the green light to Isabella Bank Corporation’s planned acquisition of Grand River Commerce, Inc. and Grand River Bank. This approval marks a significant step forward in the merger process, which was first announced in June and is valued at approximately $54.6 million.
Under the terms of the deal, Grand River Commerce will merge into Isabella Bank Corporation, while Grand River Bank will merge into Isabella Bank. Isabella Bank will remain the surviving institution, expanding its footprint into the Grand Rapids area and Kent County.
The combined entity is expected to have around $2.8 billion in total assets and operate 33 branches across nine Michigan counties. The transaction is slated to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, pending shareholder approval and other customary closing conditions.
The Federal Reserve’s approval clears a major regulatory hurdle, bringing the merger closer to completion. The deal will significantly strengthen Isabella Bank’s presence in Michigan.
