Federal Reserve Policy Mistake Worries Economist Mark Zandi
Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody's Analytics, has expressed concerns that a possible policy mistake by the Federal Reserve has become a new risk to the economy. According to Zandi, the latest FOMC meeting highlighted a potential misstep in how policymakers are approaching current economic conditions.
Zandi pointed out that the June U.S. employment report showed notable weakness, which contrasts with much of the prevailing commentary. He also noted that rising interest rates and a higher 10-year Treasury yield have burdened the U.S. economy since the start of the Iran War.
