Federal Reserve President Sees Innovation in PA Workforce Development
Anna Paulson, President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, toured Penn College of Technology's Welding Program to learn about its economic impact on Pennsylvania's workforce.
Penn College serves as a magnet for industry partners, with over 4,000 partnerships established. The college works closely with these partners to provide training and expertise in key areas of growth.
Paulson met with local business leaders before the tour, hearing their concerns about finding qualified employees. She noted that businesses often struggle to find workers with the right skills, but Penn College is addressing this issue by providing training programs for 5,000 incumbent workers and producing graduates for key areas of growth in the economy.
The relationship between local partners and the college stood out to Paulson as a key factor in its success. The college reaches out to partners to obtain equipment that students need to be successful in their future careers.
