Foschini Group Sees Modest Sales Growth Amid Challenging Conditions

The Foschini Group Limited (TFG) has released its trading update for the 21 weeks ended August 22, 2026. The company's sales grew by 0.2% to R23 billion in the current period, with a 2.0% increase in constant currency. TFG Africa sales increased by 3.4%, while online sales contributed 15.9% of total sales.

TFG London experienced a 2.3% growth in GBP, despite a weak UK economy and promotional-driven backdrop. However, the company's Australian segment faced challenging conditions, with a 4.7% decrease in AUD sales.

The Group has forecasted that net debt at the end of the interim period will be broadly in line with the prior year, reflecting positive cash generation from inventory management and modest growth in the debtors book.
