FTSE Falls on Inflation Concerns Despite Strong Earnings

The FTSE 100 index fell by 0.4% to 10,830.63 at 0835 BST, while Brent crude oil prices dropped by 1.5% to $86.49 a barrel.

Susannah Street, chief investment strategist at Wealth Club, warned that sentiment is becoming more cautious due to concerns about inflation, government debt, and interest rates.

Inflation remains high, with the Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index (PCE) still running hot at 3.7%, above the Federal Reserve's target of 2%.

Nvidia shares are set to rise after reporting a doubling of revenues in the second quarter and delivering sales guidance ahead of market forecasts.
