FTSE Treads Water Ahead of US Inflation Data and Nvidia Earnings
London's FTSE 100 index remained flat at 10,883.88 in early trade on Wednesday as investors awaited key US inflation data and quarterly earnings from Nvidia.
The release of the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) index, the Federal Reserve's preferred measure of inflation, is expected to show a 3.6% rise in July headline inflation and 3.2% increase in core inflation, which excludes energy and food prices.
Richard Hunter, head of markets at Interactive Investor, noted that markets were holding patterned ahead of these pivotal releases.
