G20 Trade Ministers Meet Amidst US Tariff Uncertainty

G20 trade ministers gathered in Wisconsin for a meeting that will be marked by the elephant in the room, US President Donald Trump's global tariff agenda.

The agenda has forced many countries, including Canada, to rethink and reshape their trading relationships due to the new tariffs, barriers, and uncertainty imposed by the Trump administration as it pursues an America-first policy.

Canada is seeking to advance talks with global trading partners as it works to reduce its dependency on the US economy. International Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu stated that 'in a more unpredictable world, trade diversification is Canada's Plan A.'

Sidhu is leading the Canadian delegation at the meeting, which will include high-level meetings on the sidelines where countries discuss plans to work around the host.
