GBP/AUD Exchange Rate Eyes Break Above AU$1.92 Amid BoE Hike Bets

The Pound-Australian Dollar exchange rate may see further gains if strong UK jobs and inflation data boost expectations of a Bank of England interest rate hike.

Last week, GBP/AUD traded at AU$1.9124, up roughly 0.2% from the start of the session.

The Australian dollar had a soft start to last week due to Chinese disinflation concerns and a nervous market mood, but it rebounded after RBA Governor Michele Bullock suggested that interest rates may need to tighten again.

This week, key UK economic indicators will be released, including inflation and employment figures, which could have a significant impact on BoE rate expectations and subsequently the Pound's value against the Australian dollar.
