GBP/JPY Edges Higher Amid Oversold Conditions, Downside Momentum Lingers

The GBP/JPY currency pair has staged a limited recovery as the Japanese Yen (JPY) weakens across the board. The cross holds near its lowest level in nine months after breaking several key supports, with downside momentum persisting despite oversold conditions.

Oversold RSI signals may indicate room for a short-term rebound in the cross, although the breakdown of several key levels has weakened the broader bullish structure. The 210 psychological support level is now likely to act as resistance during recovery attempts, with three major moving averages sitting above the current price.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) near 27 indicates oversold conditions, leaving room for a corrective rebound or period of consolidation. However, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence indicator remains below zero, suggesting downside momentum is still in place.
