GBP/LKR Flat as Central Bank Maintains Benchmark Interest Rate
The Pound Sterling (GBP) has been trading flat against the Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR), holding near its low for the day at LKR436.23.
This stability can be attributed to the decision of Sri Lanka's central bank to keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 8.75%.
The steady policy direction has helped anchor expectations for the Sri Lankan rupee, fostering currency stability in the near term.
However, traders are expecting a downside bias to persist amid volatility and firm range boundaries, with a 78% chance of a move lower versus a 22% likelihood of an upward reversal.
