The British Pound has been consolidating near $1.3300 as recent UK data indicates a more favorable growth-inflation mix.

Elias Haddad of Brown Brothers Harriman notes that strong PMIs and retail sales have reduced near-term growth concerns, while easing inflation expectations give the Bank of England room to stay patient.

The July PMI surprised to the upside, reaching a three-month high at 52.1, reflecting both a recovery in services business activity and faster expansion in manufacturing production.

UK retail sales also beat forecast again, increasing 1.0% month-over-month, with ex-automotive fuel sales up 1.1% versus the previous 1.2% in May.

However, Haddad cautions that the strength is driven by temporary factors rather than a sustained consumer boom, citing promotions, hot weather, and World Cup spending as contributors to the boost.
