GBP Trades Mixed as UK Employment Report Falls Short

The British Pound (GBP) experienced a mixed performance against its currency peers following the release of the United Kingdom's labor market data for three months ending July.

According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the economy created 67,000 fresh jobs, lower than the 83,000 in the previous quarter. The ILO Unemployment Rate remained steady at 4.9%, contrary to expectations of a rise to 5%.

The mixed UK employment figures failed to support the Pound, while the adverse monetary policy divergence between the Bank of England (BoE) and the Federal Reserve (Fed) continues to weigh on the GBP/USD pair with key monetary policy decisions ahead.
