GBP/USD Sees Slight Bounce Following Upbeat UK Retail Sales Data
The British Pound (GBP) has experienced a slight rebound against the US Dollar (USD), currently trading at around 1.3372, following the release of UK Retail Sales data for August.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) reported that Retail Sales grew by 0.5% Month-on-Month (MoM) after declining at a same pace, contradicting market expectations of a 0.2% contraction.
This unexpected increase in retail consumption has contributed to the Pound's gain, despite its overall performance remaining sluggish due to diverging monetary policy decisions by the Federal Reserve (Fed) and the Bank of England (BoE) earlier this week.
