GBP/USD Sees Slight Rally Ahead of NFP Data as US Treasury Yields Surge
The British Pound (GBP) has strengthened against the US Dollar (USD), rising to around 1.3208 ahead of the highly anticipated US Nonfarm Payrolls (NFP) data for September.
This increase in the GBP/USD pair comes as surging US Treasury Yields have boosted hawkish Federal Reserve expectations, driving up the US Dollar Index.
Catherine Mann, a member of the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee, has criticized the central bank for not taking early action against the energy supply shock caused by the Iran war outbreak.
