Ghanaian Cedi Depreciates Against Major Currencies on September 28

The Ghanaian Cedi has depreciated in value against major currencies on September 28, 2026. The average buying rate for the US dollar is GHS11.73, a decline of four pesewas compared to Friday's rates. The selling rate for the US dollar is GHS12.11, down five pesewas from Friday.

The Cedi trades at GHS11.85 for dollar purchases and GHS12.20 for dollar sales at forex bureaus. On the Bank of Ghana interbank market, the cedi is trading at GHS11.62 for buying and GHS11.63 for sale.

For other major currencies, the British pound is trading at GHS15.39 for buying and GHS16.29 for selling at forex bureaus, while the Bank of Ghana's interbank rate for the pound is GHS15.40. The Euro trades at GHS13.19 for buying and GHS14.00 for selling at forex bureaus.

Money transfer services like LemFi and Taptap Send are offering dollar rates of GHS11.64 each for remittances from the US or UK to Ghana. For the British pound, these services offer GHS15.42 each for remittances from the US or UK. The Euro rate is quoted at GHS13.27 each for remittances from the US or UK to Ghana.
