Punjabi actor-singer Gippy Grewal recently took to social media to express his frustration with Air Canada, claiming he was downgraded from business class to economy on a flight from Toronto to Newark. The incident occurred on September 16, 2026, when Grewal was traveling to meet his elder son in the US.

Grewal paid for a business class ticket but was seated in economy class without any explanation or apology from Air Canada staff. When he asked about the change, he was told that it was due to a last-minute aircraft switch and that four business class seats had been converted to economy.

Air Canada responded to Grewal's social media post with an apology for the inconvenience caused and offered to investigate further. However, Grewal's friend Binu Dhillon expressed skepticism about Air Canada's explanation, suggesting that it was a common practice for airlines to downgrade passengers without notice.
