Global Bond Yields Plummet Amid Inflation Pressures
Bond yields across the globe declined on Thursday after the US 10-year Treasury yield reached its highest level since April 2002, while stocks and the euro also experienced losses.
The surge in bond prices has been driven by soaring energy costs fueling inflation and the boom in AI and data center construction boosting growth expectations.
US manufacturing data pointed to sustained inflation pressures, with input prices surging amid strong demand.
'I'm not suggesting the global bond selloff is over. I am suggesting it's probably overdone,' said Oliver Pursche, senior vice president and advisor for Wealthspire Advisors in Westport, Connecticut.
