Global Gold Prices Plummet Amid Strengthening US Dollar
World gold prices took a hit on October 3 as the US dollar strengthened. The price of gold fell to USD 4,139.8 per ounce, influenced by rising US Treasury yields and a stronger greenback.
The domestic market also felt the effects, with SJC-branded gold bars traded at VND 143.5 million per tael and gold rings sold for VND 143 million per tael.
These price movements come on the heels of similar declines in global and domestic markets over the past few days, with gold prices holding steady on September 22 following a sharp decline.
