Gold and silver prices in India remained unchanged on Tuesday, 13 October, as investors braced for key US inflation data that could influence the Federal Reserve's interest rate decisions. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) cautioned that bond yields might surge unpredictably due to rising inflation, increasing debt, and geopolitical tensions, potentially impacting precious metals.
Internationally, gold prices dipped after reaching a one-week high on Monday, pressured by a stronger US dollar and higher oil prices. Spot gold fell 0.6% to $1,970.62 per ounce, while US gold futures for December delivery dropped 0.5% to $1,995.10 per ounce. Investors are closely watching Fed Chair Kevin Warsh's remarks and upcoming inflation data to assess future monetary policy moves.
In the domestic market, gold prices were flat across major cities, with 24K and 22K gold rates holding steady. MCX gold futures rose 0.11% to ₹1,49,930 per 10 grams, while MCX silver futures climbed 0.16% to ₹2,23,640 per kg. The outlook for gold remains uncertain amid escalating conflicts in the Middle East and the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
Over the past year, 24K gold prices in Delhi have surged 20.78%, from ₹1,27,460 on 13 October 2025 to ₹1,51,640 on 12 October 2026. Recent attacks in Saudi Arabia and geopolitical risks continue to influence market sentiment, with investors awaiting further clues from US economic data.
