Gold Falls, Silver Soars Amid US Interest Rate Speculation

Gold prices edged lower on Thursday morning as investors took profits, while silver maintained its upward momentum for a third consecutive session.

The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) saw gold futures open at Rs 1,43,882 per 10 grams, down Rs 548 or 0.37% from the previous close of Rs 1,44,430.

However, silver futures outperformed gold, jumping as much as 0.84% or nearly Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,32,339 per kg, its intraday high so far.

The US Federal Reserve's potential interest rate trajectory is being closely watched by investors, with softer-than-expected US jobs data and lower crude oil prices helping limit gold's losses.
