Gold Futures Decline Amid Strengthening US Dollar
The gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed lower due to a stronger US dollar, according to Stephen Innes of Quintex Intel. The spot-month September 2026 contract fell to $4,263.90 per troy ounce from $4,319.30 on Wednesday.
Other factors contributing to the bearish outlook for gold include strong United States PMI readings, higher oil prices, a sharp rise in US Treasury yields, and softer risk sentiment, Innes said.
The October 2026 contract dropped to $4,273.10 from $4,336.30 yesterday, while November 2026 declined to $4,289.80 per troy ounce from $4,353.00 on Wednesday.
