Gold Prices Drop Amid Stronger Dollar and Hawkish Fed Comments
The price of gold dipped slightly on September 23 due to a stronger US dollar and hawkish comments from Federal Reserve officials.
Sources report that spot gold prices fell by 1.1% to $4,315.27 per ounce.
This decline in gold prices triggered a corresponding drop in shares of US-listed gold mining companies, with leading miners Newmont Mining and Barrick Gold experiencing declines of 1.8%.
South African mining companies such as Gold Fields, AngloGold Ashanti, Harmony Gold, and Sibanye Stillwater saw losses ranging from 3.6% to 5.5%, while Canadian miner Kinross Gold dropped by 2.1%.
