Gold Prices Edge Up Amid Inflation Data Focus
Gold prices ticked up slightly on Tuesday as investors focused on upcoming US inflation data. The US dollar slipped, making gold more affordable for holders of other currencies.
The price of spot gold was up 0.1% at $4,407.27 per ounce, while U.S. gold futures for December delivery fell 0.6% at $4,452.10.
Chris Weston, head of research at Pepperstone Group, said that 'gold remains locked in a battle between buyers and sellers, with neither party showing enough conviction to drive a sustained and persistent directional move.'
