Gold prices in Pakistan surged by Rs1,200 per tola, reaching a new rate of Rs437,536. The increase mirrored gains in the international bullion market, where prices climbed to $4,150 per ounce, up $12 during the session. This uptick follows a sharp decline on Saturday, when gold prices dropped by Rs4,300 per tola and Rs3,687 for 10 grams.
In the domestic market, the price of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs1,029 to Rs375,116. Silver also saw gains, with prices increasing by Rs66 per tola to Rs6,588, marking a new all-time high. The precious-metals market remains sensitive to international gold prices, US dollar movements, interest-rate expectations, and global economic developments.
Regional variations in gold prices were noted, with Lahore reporting rates between Rs437,000 and Rs436,300 per tola, while Karachi saw a selling rate of Rs438,000. Peshawar had the highest selling rate at Rs449,000 per tola, and a 1kg bar was priced at Rs6,700.
