Gold Rallies as Fed Rate Decision Looms, Confidence Premium Boosts Bullion

Gold's price has shown resilience in recent days, climbing back above $4,300 an ounce despite a firm dollar and high Treasury yields.

The metal recovered some of its losses from earlier this month, when it fell to its lowest level in over a month. Spot gold rose 0.8% to $4,328.39 on Wednesday, while December US futures traded at $4,369.50.

Market analysts are attributing the recovery to softer oil prices and the possibility of further tightening by the Federal Reserve after Chair Kevin Warsh's press conference.

If guidance from the Fed implies more tightening but long-end yields don't collapse, gold is likely to remain bid as a hedge against policy uncertainty.
