Gold Rises Above $4,400 on Dollar Retreat and Easing Inflation Fears
Gold prices rose over 1% on Thursday to climb above $4,400 an ounce as the US dollar retreated and Treasury yields eased.
The metal's rebound was supported by Fed signals easing inflation fears after President John Williams stated that U.S. inflation is continuing to ease as the impact of tariffs fades.
Williams also noted that higher energy prices are not spreading into other services, adding to the softer backdrop for rate hikes.
Thursday's gold price increase comes after a near four-week low on Wednesday, with gold now up 1.6% from its earlier dip.
