Gold Stands Firm Above $4,300 Amid Weaker US Job Market
Gold prices held steady above $4,300 an ounce on Monday after gaining more than 7% last week and reaching a seven-week high.
The surge comes as weak US labour-market data reduced expectations for a September Federal Reserve rate hike, supporting gold.
US nonfarm payrolls unexpectedly fell by 23,000 in July, while previous months were revised lower.
